Does Matlab do integer division? ›

The argument opt provides the rounding options for A./B and B. \A when dividing integers. MATLAB^® does not support complex integer division.

Integer division

The % (integer divide) operator divides two numbers and returns the integer part of the result. The result returned is defined to be that which would result from repeatedly subtracting the divisor from the dividend while the dividend is larger than the divisor.

A division algorithm is an algorithm which, given two integers N and D (respectively the numerator and the denominator), computes their quotient and/or remainder, the result of Euclidean division. Some are applied by hand, while others are employed by digital circuit designs and software.
