Margaret Robinson Obituary - 2022 (2024)

Margaret Stafford Robinson, 88, of Burgaw passed peacefully into the glory of her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

She was born January 25, 1934 in Johnston County, the daughter of James William Stafford and Martha Jane Johnson Stafford. In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, James “Jim” R. Robinson in January of 2022.

Margaret is survived by her loving family: daughters, Kim R. Canter (Eddie) and Robin R. Hawkins (Lee); grandchildren, Keleigh May (Joe), Rachel Deschenes (Thomas), Jordan Hamilton, and Justin Hamilton (Lexie); great grandchildren, Tucker, Rosie and Lucy; several special nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends.

Margaret was a long time faithful and active member of Burgaw Baptist Church where she served in many capacities through the years. After 20 years, Margaret retired from the Pender County Department of Social Services.

Margaret was an extraordinary woman of God whose resounding faith and love for family was unmatched. Her brightly shining light often served as a guide to those around her. Those that knew Margaret will always remember her passion for her Sunday school class, cooking for those she loved and spending time with friends and family around her kitchen table. She was a true example of what it meant to be a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed, but the lessons she taught us will live on in those who knew and loved her. We find solace in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing with her Almighty Father.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Burgaw Baptist Church with The Rev. Danny Justice and The Rev.Tom Canady conducting the service. Following the service there will be a reception and a time of fellowship with family and friends in the church fellowship hall.
