    Release Considerations

The Action Configuration tab is available starting with Cerner Millennium 2018.17 Innovation Release.

Rule-based routing criteria is available with Cerner Millennium 2015.01.

    Note

To configure multiple queues at the same time, seeConfiguring the Registration Actions Using CPDI Work Queue Manager.

Complete the following steps to configure a work queue:

    1. If you want to add a new queue, select Add New Queue on the toolbar or select it from the Task menu. If you want to modify a queue, select the work queue you want to modify from the Queue tree.

      Note

If you want to use an existing work queue as a template for your new one, select the existing work queue on the Queue tree and select Use As Template on the toolbar. You also can select Use As Template from the Task menu.

    2. Enter a name for your work queue in the Displayed Queue Name box. You can also use this box to modify the name. This is the name that will be displayed on the Queue tree. In addition, enter a description for your work queue in the Queue Description box. You can also use this box to modify the description of your work queue.
    3. On the User Access tab, select the users or positions you want to associate with the work queue. Once you select User or Position, the system displays criteria for you to define.
      • For position, select the appropriate position from the Available Position list and move it to the Selected Positions list.

        Note

To exclude a particular user within the specified position, under User Exceptions, locate the user by entering that user's last name in the Search By Last Name box. The system automatically moves the selected name to the Selected User Exceptions list. You can select the binoculars button to start a more comprehensive search, or if multiple matches are found.

      • For user, locate the user by entering that user's last name in the Search By Last Name box. You can select the findbuttonConfiguring a Work Queue in CPDI Work Queue Manager - Oracle Health Document Imaging Help Pages (15)to start a more comprehensive search, or if multiple matches are found.
Select at least one user or position before saving your work queue.

The list is populated by users that have been granted access to Task 4279000 CPDI Work Queue Manager.

    4. Select the Routing Criteria tab. Select the priority of work items, as well as document types, you want sent to this work queue. Access theAssigning Rule-Based Routing Criteria in CPDI Work Queue Manager Help Page for more information.
    5. On the Attributes Displayed tab, select the attributes you want displayed in the selected work queue. In the Available Attributes list, select the attribute or attributes you want displayed, and select Move. The system populates the Show These Attributes in This Order list. The system uses the order in which the attributes are listed as the order in which they are displayed in the work queue. To change the order in which an attribute is displayed, select that attribute and select arrow up or arrow down respectively, until the attribute is positioned correctly.
    6. Select the Times and Coverage tab.

      Note

The Times and Coverage tab is not available if rule-based routing is used.

      1. In the Queue Accepting Times group box, select Add to add times over which work items will be sent to this queue. You can add multiple time pointers to create complex virtual calendars to exactly mimic the times at which the locations covered by this work queue are open.
      2. In the Covered Locations group box, select Modify Locations to search by facility, and then add the locations you want to be covered by this work queue.

        Note

In a multi-tenant environment, do not configure covered locations for each queue to keep work items for different tenants separated. When work items are captured, ensure that the location information (CAPTURE_LOC field) is specified for each work item to route work items appropriately to queues. This ensures that work items are not viewed by non-affiliated individuals.

    7. Select the Attribute Configuration tab. This attribute configuration spreadsheet contains a list of attributes on the CPDI Work Queue Monitor (CDIWorkQueueMonitor.exe) Add/Modify dialog box that can be designated, at the queue level, as being displayed, being required, or needing a warning if they are not populated, and allowing multiple attributes to be selected. The queue level relates to the queue from which a work item is opened for modification.

      • Display: Select check boxes to indicate that you want the attribute to display in the Add/Modify dialog box.
      • Required: Select check boxes to indicate whether the attribute is required in the Add/Modify dialog box. Required attributes are displayed in yellow, and the OK button is disabled untilall required attributes have been indexed. Selecting theRequired for the Authenticated Status option in the Message Center section indicates that if you select Post as Authenticated in Work Queue Monitor, a provider must be populated in the list of provider actions. Selecting theRequired for the Transcribed Status option in the Message Center section indicates that if you do not select Post as Authenticated in Work Queue Monitor, a provider must be populated in the list of provider actions.
      • Warning: Select check boxes to indicate whether the attributeneeds a warning if it is not populated in the Add/Modify dialog box. Warning attributes are displayed in pink in the Add/Modify dialog box, and a message is displayed if these fields are not indexed. Selecting the Warning for the Authenticated Status option in the Message Center section indicates that, if you select Post as Authenticated in Work Queue Monitor, a warning is displayed if a provider is not populated in the list of provider actions. Selecting the Warning for the Transcribed Status option in the Message Center section indicates that if you do not select Post as Authenticated in Work Queue Monitor, a warning is displayed if a provider is not populated in the list of provider actions.
      • Multiple Attributes:
        1. Select theMultiple Attributecheck box to indicate that the attribute allows multiple criteria to be selected.
        2. Select theDefault to Post as Authenticatedcheck box toselect thePost as Authenticatedcheck box in Work Queue Monitor for work items opened from the selected queue.Default to Post as Authenticatedis the default selection.
        3. Select thePaginate Work Itemscheck box to indicate that you want work items for the queuedisplayed in pages of work items. Using pagination improves system performance when using queues with large numbers of work items.

        Release Considerations

The Default to Post asAuthenticated checkboxis available with Cerner Millennium 2015.01 and Cerner Millennium 2018.01.

The Required and Warning check boxes in the Message Center section are available with Cerner Millennium 2015.01 and Cerner Millennium 2018.01.

The Paginate Work Items check box is available with the Cerner Millennium 2018.01.04 Service Release.

    8. Select the Action Configuration tab. This tab allows you to configure registration actions at the queue level, by selecting the registration actions you want to associate with the work queue.Select the appropriate actions from the Available Actions list and move them to the Selected Actions list.

      Note

The Available Action list is populated only with supported registration actions (Add Encounter and Add Patient).

This selection determines which registration actions are launched from Patient Search in Work Queue Monitor when selecting Add Person or Add Encounter.

If registration actions are configured for the current queue and accessible to the current user, the Add Encounter and Add Person buttons will behave as follows:

      • If at least an Add Encounter action is configured and no Add Patient actions are configured, the Add Encounter button is enabled and the Add Person button isdisabled.
      • If at least an Add Patient action is configured and no Add Encounter actions are configured, the Add Person button is enabled and the Add Encounter button isdisabled.
      • If multiple Add Encounter actions are configured, when selecting Add Encounter, the user is prompted to select which registration action will be opened. Similarly, if multiple Add Patient actions are configured, when selecting Add Person, the user is prompted to select which registration action will be opened.
      • If no registration actions are configured and task 4279106 is granted, the Patient Search displays the Add Encounter and Add Person buttons, which are enabled based on Patient Management definitions (also as defined by Patient Management requirements, the PM conversation that is launched is the conversation associated with task 4279106 using DB Flexible Task Builder (PMFlxTsk.exe)).

        Note

When registration actions are assigned that cannot be used by the logged-in user, the Add Person and Add Encounter buttons are not available in the Patient Search in Work Queue Monitor and the following message is written to the log file: RAP actions are defined, but nonapplicable for the current context.

See All About Work Queue Management for more information on registration actions.

    9. Select Active to set this work queue as available for work item routing. Select Inactive to deactivate the queue.

    10. Select Save to save your work queue or Reset to discard your changes.
